Decentralized finance protocol Compound is marching ahead with plans to tap into its competitor Morpho with the launch of new lending vaults on Polygon. The new vaults went live on March 13 at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time. It comes after a governance proposal aimed at bringing Morpho ( MORPHO )-powered vaults to Polygon ( POL ). Gauntlet and Compound ( COMP ) are launching the new lending vaults with $3 million in incentives – $1.5 million each from Compound and Polygon. CCTP v2 will offer this capability regardless of the transaction’s source blockchain. Apart from faster-than-finality settlement, v2’s Hooks feature also enhances composability for smart contracts. This means developers can automate post-transfer actions on the chain receiving the USDC transfer. “Traditional cross-chain flows are often riddled with additional trust assumptions, block-finality delays, and liquidity fragmentation,” Jonathan Lim, principal product manager at Circle, said. “CCTP V2 mitigates these issues, and paves the way for improved cross-chain USDC liquidity, enhanced cross-chain UX, and institutional-grade cross-chain infrastructure for crypto capital markets.” The upgrade to CCTP comes a few days after Circle added support for passkeys to its Modular Wallets, which the company said would help unlock a better transaction experience for USDC users. Passkeys allow developers to enable easy user onboarding and offer secure USDC transactions. The key improvement lies in enhanced authentication flows, the firm noted. According to Circle, CCTP v2 will still support the cross-chain transfer speeds for USDC currently available via CCTP v1. Meanwhile, Wormhole, Mayan, Interport, and Socket are among the top apps, bridges, and infrastructure platforms that have already integrated CCTP v2. Core, a proof of stake platform offering a dual Bitcoin staking solution, is teaming up with digital asset custody and wallet provider Cobo to expand its staking service in Asia. The collaboration will see Core and Cobo bring dual Bitcoin ( BTC ) staking and sustainable yield to institutional investors, Core Foundation announced on Mar. 7. In the announcement, shared with crypto.news via a press release, noted that Core will bring these features to users eyeing opportunities in the decentralized finance ecosystem across Asia. Core plans to offer this functionality via its DeFi-as-a-Service platform, with its sights on institutional adoption of BTC staking. “Our integration with Cobo, a trusted leader in digital asset custody and blockchain infrastructure, greatly enhances the Core ecosystem by onboarding liquidity from high-caliber institutional clients,” Brendon Sedo, an initial contributor at Core, said. The integration means Cobo users can now stake both Bitcoin and CORE tokens to earn BTC yields.
