The seven-day annualized volatility of the S&P 500 surpasses Bitcoin
According to CoinDesk, due to the impact of a new round of trade tariffs from the Trump administration, the attractiveness of US assets has declined. The seven-day annualized volatility rate for SP 500 surged to 169%, surpassing Bitcoin's volatility rate of 83% during the same period and setting a new high since the pandemic in 2020. Investors have massively sold off US Treasury bonds, causing the yield on ten-year bonds to rise to 4.45%. The dollar index fell to 100, hitting a new low since September last year. The research director at CoinShares stated that current markets may be shifting towards novel stores of value represented by Bitcoin that resist political intervention.
