Avalanche Launches Octane Update: Lower Cost and Higher Efficiency
- Octane reduces transaction costs with dynamic system
- Update increases agility in the Avalanche network
- Avalanche introduces automatic mechanism for gas fees
The Avalanche network has recently implemented Octane, a significant upgrade focused on optimizing transaction costs and efficiency. With the introduction of Octane, which was developed under the Avalanche community’s ACP-176 proposal, the network now adopts a dynamic gas fee management system, replacing the previous static fee model. This advancement allows for automatic adjustments of gas fees in response to activity volume, promoting greater accessibility and agility in operations.

Prior to Octane, Avalanche C-Chain users faced significant increases in transaction fees during periods of high demand. This resulted in high and unpredictable costs, especially affecting those who needed fast and cost-effective transactions. Now, with the new mechanism, fees automatically adapt, keeping costs low and performance robust, even as network traffic increases.
At the time of publication, the Avalanche price was listed at US$18,20, up 10% in the last 24 hours.
