Bitcoin Price Diverges From S&P 500: Could Fall Further to $60K, Trader Warns
- Bitcoin decouples from stocks.
- Possible sharp correction of Bitcoin.
- Influence of positive news on stocks.
The phenomenon of “decoupling” between Bitcoin and traditional stock markets is once again in evidence, albeit in a less optimistic way for cryptocurrency enthusiasts.
In the last 24 hours, Bitcoin has seen its value decline, once again reaching the mark close to US$ 77 thousand, with a depreciation of 1%. At the same time, the SP 500, after starting the day with a rise of 4%, lost strength and now registers a modest increase of 0,78%, settling at 5.101,96 points. At the time of publication, the price of BTC was now quoted at US$ 77.367,20 with a fall of 1%.
While the main US stock market index is recovering after a series of significant losses triggered by new tariffs announced by President Trump, Bitcoin is moving in the opposite direction, suggesting the possibility of a more severe correction on the horizon.
Stock markets were buoyed by some good news, including a statement from Trump about an imminent trade deal with South Korea and upbeat comments from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent about trade negotiations with China. Those developments provided a temporary boost, positively influencing stocks.
But why is Bitcoin falling so much today?
The cryptocurrency market appears exhausted, with investors worried about the possibility of a trade war between the United States and China. Despite some positive news recently, the perception of weakness in the market is evident, and there are indications that cryptocurrencies could face further declines.
It is worth remembering that the CEO of BlackRock designed a possible drop of up to 20% in the market, associated with tensions related to trade tariffs. Connecting market fears to the geopolitical situation and its possible repercussions on the value of Bitcoin.
On the other hand, the analysis by CryptoCapo, a well-known trader in the cryptocurrency world, does not bring such encouraging predictions for Bitcoin. According to him, there is a possibility that the price of the cryptocurrency will fall to US$ 65 thousand, perhaps reaching US$ 60 thousand, zones considered critical for an eventual reversal.
