Three major U.S. stock indexes narrowed losses to less than 3 per cent

After an intraday plunge, U.S. stock losses briefly narrowed, the three major indexes narrowed to within 3%. Earlier, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq both fell more than 5 per cent. U.S. President Donald Trump said earlier that this would be the perfect time for Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell to cut interest rates.
