Designers Enter Decentraland for Metaverse Fashion Week 2025
The fashion event will include runways, showrooms, installations, and panels that explore the themes of identity, technology, and culture.

Social virtual world Decentraland will host its flagship virtual event Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) this month, showcasing runways, panels, and showrooms, with the insiders arguing that “digital fashion can reflect—and reshape—our world.”
MVFW 2025 will start on 9 April and will last until 12 April, hosting more than 47 global designers and brands. The theme is ‘Infinite Identities.’
According to the press release, the event will happen on Decentraland 2.0, the platform’s redesigned desktop client. The team has made improvements to offer boosted visuals, interactivity, and accessibility. Therefore, it allows an immersive environment for both the creators and the attendees.
Moreover, MVFW will showcase 16 interactive designer showrooms that explore “the interplay between fashion, technology, and cultural narrative,” the announcement says.
The showrooms are divided into two thematic zones. One is ‘Augmented Self,’ focusing on novel uses of AI, AR, and digital-physical fashion. The attendees will be able to see pieces by Digital Drip, FFFACE.ME, Another-1 X Templa, and Chipped.
The other theme is Storied Self, focused on “fashion as cultural storytelling.” It includes adaptive fashion for prosthetics by Ukraine’s SVD Denim, mycelium-inspired digital wearables from Amsterdam’s GLTCH Atelier, and digital storytelling from Puerto Rico’s Spatialgineers Collective.
Meanwhile, Decentraland says there is a $15,000 prize pool, while winning entries will debut on a dedicated runway.
Digital Self-Expression
The fashion event will include runways, showrooms, installations, and panels.
The press release says that the MVFW 2025 attendees will benefit from “creative surprises as designers redefine the runway with innovative animated collections that blur the line between digital and physical fashion.”
Furthermore, installations will explore the themes of identity, technology, and culture, as well as the merger of the three. One of these is Entangled Q by Cansy. The team describes it as a quantum-inspired art installation with avatars that dynamically morph and explore fluid identities.
Another one is OFF-WORLD Galactic Expansion by The Immersive KIND, a futuristic display combining “AI-generated beauty, robotics couture, and interstellar aesthetics.”
Additionally, the event will feature a series of panels that will include industry insiders from Harper’s BAZAAR Australia, Parsons School of Design, Ready Player Me, Institut Français de la Mode, Boy’s Club, and more.
The panelists will discuss a number of themes. Per the press release, these include digital self-expression, AI’s impact on fashion creativity, wearable tech in gaming environments, and the intersection of physical and virtual retail.
“This year’s Metaverse Fashion Week comes at a critical moment for fashion and our society at large; one marked by rethinking priorities, authenticity, and connection,” says Bay Backner, Head Producer of MVFW.
Backner argues that digital fashion can “elevate unheard voices, ask important questions, and spark real cultural change. In a time like this, when the physical world feels increasingly heavy or limiting, third spaces like Decentraland become places where people can breathe, create, and truly be themselves.”
