Enish Co., the Japanese gaming company renowned for its blockchain-based De:Lithe Last Memories series, has announced its first Bitcoin purchase, valued at 100 million yen.
In an official statement, the company disclosed that it will allocate these funds—approximately $679,049—to acquire Bitcoin, with the transaction set to be completed by April 4.
The company aims to diversify its financial portfolio while leveraging Bitcoin’s liquidity and stability. Additionally, it seeks to capitalize on potential price appreciation, positioning Bitcoin as a key asset in its broader investment strategy.
It has also committed to quarterly reviews of its Bitcoin holdings, including any unrealized gains or losses in its financial reports, to promote transparency and responsible asset management. The company’s recent purchase comes when Bitcoin’s price has slightly dipped, currently trading at $83,242 after a 1.9% decline in the past 24 hours, suggesting that Enish may have taken advantage of a favourable buying opportunity.
The company is enhancing its technical expertise in blockchain technology to innovate within the gaming industry. Known for mobile titles like De:Lithe – The King of Oblivion and Angel of the Covenant, the company has made significant progress in blockchain gaming. Its latest release, De:Lithe Last Memories, launched on July 25, 2024, incorporates blockchain elements, allowing players to earn tokens and purchase NFTs in a Free-to-Play format. The game’s dynamic reward system redistributes earnings as players engage with tokens and sales. This move aligns with Enish’s long-term vision for developing Web3-based games.
Enish’s venture into blockchain gaming aligns with a broader trend among Japanese gaming companies. Many industry players are expanding into Web3, leveraging blockchain to enhance gameplay experiences. Recently, messaging giant LINE partnered with Sony’s Soneium blockchain to launch four blockchain-based mini-app games. These games allow players to earn points that can be transferred and used within the main app, showcasing how blockchain is seamlessly integrated into mainstream gaming platforms.
