FAT Brands Now Accepts Bitcoin for Franchise Payments
FAT Brands, the company that owns restaurant franchises like Fatburger, Johnny Rockets, and Round Table Pizza, among others, said it will now accept Bitcoin for franchise royalties. FAT Brands is the first restaurant franchise to offer this option.
In the press release , Thayer Wiederhorn, the Chief Operating Officer of FAT Brands, explained why the company made this choice:
“Over the years, Bitcoin has transformed into a mainstream asset, and as a Company, we see great value in expanding our forms of payments for our franchisees, especially for our international partners, who make up over 20 percent of our portfolio.”
He also mentioned how Bitcoin will facilitate easier and quicker payments for franchises across other nations. Wiederhorn said that FAT Brands is excited to be part of Bitcoin’s growing popularity and the digital currency’s evolution.
“We look forward to utilizing Bitcoin as an efficient tool for streamlining and simplifying the payment process and are excited to be at the forefront of this evolution in embracing Bitcoin as it continues to grow in popularity.”
Bitcoin is becoming an important payment option worldwide. FAT Brands wants to stay ahead of the curve by offering a modern payment option to its franchisees. This may also show other restaurant chains the advantages of using cryptocurrency to make business payments.
