$1 million in rewards up for grabs in The Sandbox Alpha Season 5

Players can earn up to $1 million in rewards in The Sandbox’s Alpha Season 5, which begins on March 31. The six-week season will offer more than 40 new games, social experiences, and gamified worlds to discover. 

It also marks the debut of a major partnership with Universal Products & Experiences and Amblin Entertainment, featuring a new ‘Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve’ experience.

Players will get the opportunity to win $SAND from a pool of up to $1 million USD for finishing quests and unlocking unique digital gear.

In a statement about the new season, Sebastien Borget, Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer of The Sandbox, said, “Alpha Season 5 marks the beginning of a new era for The Sandbox as we take a major step in growing into a more mature, always-on, live services model, consistently providing our players with new and high-quality content to play and explore.”

Players can participate in various quests for rewards

Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve, the featured game in Alpha Season 5, places players in an Arizona sanctuary as part of the Dinosaur Protection Group. 

By collecting resources, completing tasks, and keeping dinosaurs safe, participants earn Jurassic Points that help them improve the facility or hatch a Jurassic World Dinosaur Egg.

These eggs can grow into creatures like Triceratops, Tyrannosauruses, or Velociraptors. Through special bonus quests, players can then collect extra Ethos Points on the season’s Battle Pass by raising their dinosaurs to adulthood. 

For the first time, fans can also claim their own limited-edition Jurassic World Dinosaur Egg, which will give them a chance to hatch rare dinosaurs.

Players who manage to grow their new companions to adult size can keep them in their wallet or use them in user-generated content on The Sandbox’s map.

Beyond the Jurassic World feature, Alpha Season 5 offers ten new racing games created by The Sandbox Internal Studios. Each race tests players on increasingly complicated tracks, awarding in-game prizes for top finishes. 

There are also new community-made games and experiences that make use of the platforming, racing, and multiplayer updates introduced with Game Maker 0.11 . This version of Game Maker improves avatar animations and adds features like flying, double jumping, and air dance, while opening up more creative possibilities.

The Alpha Season Hub and Club XYZ residences will feature appearances by Steve Aoki and Guy Gerber. Every play session during the season can yield in-game rewards.

Ahead of the March 31 launch, players who pre-register will receive a free Jurassic Raptor helmet to wear in the game.
