Solana Meme Coin Trenches Heat Up as Morning Routine Token Touches $19 Million
A Solana token launched on Pump.fun as a riff on an intense, ice water facial morning routine has revived the meme coin trenches.
Over the weekend, Pump.fun created meme coin Morning Routine (ROUTINE) soared to a $19 million market cap leading many to believe the trenches are heating back up. This meme spawned off the back of a mega viral video of an influencer documenting an intense morning routine, which includes two ice water facials.
The video is believed by many to be the most viewed post on X (formerly Twitter) since the viewership metric became public in 2022, raking in over 667 million views in just four days. Previously, a post by activist Greta Thunberg insulting influencer Andrew Tate was believed to be one of the top liked posts and most viewed with 323 million views and Elon Musk’s post of President Trump following the first assassination attempt drew in 244 million views.

Fitness influencer Ashton Hall first posted the video on TikTok in early February. But it only really took off once it was reuploaded to X by user TipsForMen.
In the video, Hall wakes up at 3:52, instantly cracks open a bottle of Saratoga Spring Water before writing in his diary, and watching videos about God. He then dunks his head in a bowl of ice water, goes to the gym, wipes a banana peel over his face, dunks his head in a bowl of ice water (again), then works remotely while wearing a suit.
Viewers have said they find the video hilarious because of the ice water facials and how seemingly serious Hall takes the whole process.
Morning Routine (ROUTINE) launched on Pump.fun on Friday, March 21, and soared to a $19 million market cap by Sunday. Since then, according to DEX Screener, it retraced 57% to an $8 million market cap before surging 87.8% to a $15 million market cap.
There’s also been a beta play on ROUTINE with Saratoga Spring Water (SARAGOTA). It’s a reference to the bottled water Hall drinks throughout the viral video. SARATOGA had climbed to a $3 million market cap by Monday morning.
The flurry of action on ROUTINE and SARATOGA has breathed life into the meme coin trenches, which have seen months of negative price action. Part of this theory is that traders making profits on ROUTINE will rotate their funds into other coins; as such, it’s worth noting that more than 100 traders have profited more than $10,000 on the fitness-inspired coin, according to DEX Screener.

This also comes as meme coins have started to turn a corner as a sector.
Over the past week, according to CoinGecko, major tokens like Fartcoin (FARTCOIN), SPX6900 (SPX), and Bonk (BONK) have recovered 80%, 68%, and 23% respectively. Alongside this, the entire category, according to CoinGecko, has climbed 6.6% on the day.
But not everyone is a winner. Base chain meme Toshi (TOSHI) has fallen 17.7% over the week, wholesome meme Unicorn Fart Dust (UFD) has dropped 15%, and artist-led Fwog (FWOG) has slipped 6%.
Still, many traders believe this is the start of a second phase of meme coin mania—following last year’s craziness.
