Greeks.live: As quarterly delivery approaches, crypto options market makers bet that the short-term market will continue to consolidate
Adam, a macro analyst at Greeks.live, stated in a post that the cryptocurrency market trading was relatively flat this week, with the total volume of options contracts decreasing by nearly half. Short-term implied volatility has significantly decreased, with the short-term volatility in Bitcoin dropping below 50% and the short-term volatility in ETH falling to around 60%.
Cryptocurrencies are currently in a state of free oscillation and investors' sentiment is becoming dull. As the quarter-end approaches, large investors are generally adopting a conservative strategy, options market makers are increasing their selling intensity, tightening implied volatility, and betting that the short-term market will continue to consolidate sideways.
