Only 4% of the world's population will own Bitcoin by 2025, report says
Only 4% of the global population currently holds Bitcoin, with the United States having the highest concentration of holders, estimated at 14% of individuals owning BTC.
Based on a research report from BTC financial services company River, North America still has the highest adoption rate for individuals and institutions, while Africa currently has the lowest, at only 1.6%.
Overall, the adoption rate of BTC in developed regions is often higher than in developing regions. River estimates that BTC has only realized 3% of its maximum adoption potential - indicating that this digital currency is still in the early stages of global adoption.
