  • SEC acknowledges Grayscale’s filing for Solana ETF, signaling a shift in regulatory stance.
  • VanEck predicts Solana’s price to hit $520 by the end of 2025, based on market conditions.
  • Solana’s ETF approval could attract institutional investment, boosting its market position.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has acknowledged Grayscale’s filing for a spot Solana (SOL) ETF. This marks a significant shift in the SEC’s stance, as it had previously rejected several applications for Solana ETFs. The decision paves the way for the SEC to evaluate whether the ETF will be approved by its October 2025 deadline.

With the SEC rejecting several SOL filings, the latest one stands out as a prominent development in the crypto world. However, with this new move, the SEC is now reviewing the proposal. In his X post, James Seyffart, an ETF analyst, noted that the SEC’s willingness to acknowledge the filing shows a more favorable approach. Notably, this comes amid ongoing challenges with Solana’s classification as a security, which has complicated earlier ETF applications.

Solana’s Price Outlook for 2025

Meanwhile, VanEck, a global asset management firm, has set a bullish price target for Solana. The firm forecasts that SOL will hit $520 by the end of 2025. VanEck based its projection on the growth of the Smart Contract Platform (SCP) market, linked to the U.S. M2 money supply. The firm estimates that the SCP market cap will grow by 43% to $1.1 trillion by 2025, with Solana capturing 22% of the market share.

Our Solana Price Target by the End of 2025 is $520

Solana holds around 15% of the SCP market capitalization at present, although this proportion is expected to increase as the blockchain expands. Increased developer activity alongside established dominance in decentralized exchange volumes and active user numbers proves Solana’s potential to rise. A market capitalization projection from VanEck indicates that Solana will achieve $250 billion by 2025 thus resulting in a SOL price of $520.

Impact of SOL ETF Approval on the Market

The Solana ETF, if approved, could potentially draw significant institutional investment into the Solana ecosystem. A favorable ruling by the SEC could drive further growth in the SOL price, aligning with predictions like those made by VanEck. As various firms, including VanEck, Bitwise, and 21Shares, pursue approval for their Solana ETFs, the market is keenly awaiting the SEC’s final decision in the coming months.

With the SEC now reviewing Grayscale’s Solana ETF filing and VanEck’s optimistic price target for SOL, the Solana ecosystem looks poised for a potential surge in interest and investment over the next few years.
