Trump: Tariffs will be imposed on chips, oil, natural gas, steel and other goods
foreign media reported that US President Trump said on Friday that the United States will impose tariffs on imported goods such as computer chips, drugs, steel, aluminum, copper, oil, and natural gas as soon as mid-February. Trump also added that he wants to impose tariffs on the European Union, but did not specify the time and tax rate for the tariffs. The announced tariffs on these industries and the European Union seem to be separate from the 25% tariffs imposed on Canada and Mexico. The tariffs proposed by Trump will be imposed on top of the existing tariffs on these products. White House Press Secretary Levy confirmed in a press conference earlier that the Trump administration will impose a 25% tariff on goods from Mexico and Canada starting from February 1.
