Donald Trump picks Bo Hines to head cryptocurrency council; Details
US President-elect Donald Trump has announced the appointment of two new economic advisers to his incoming administration, the announcement was made in posts on the Truth Social Sunday platform on December 22.
Trump named Bo Hines as the Executive Director of the President’s Council of Advisors on Digital Assets, the so-called “Crypto Council.” Hines is a former college football player who ran for the House of Representatives in 2022 but was unsuccessful in his bid.
David Sacks has already been appointed by Trump to lead the government's cryptocurrency and AI affairs, and he highlighted that Hines will work together with Sacks to promote innovation and growth in the digital asset space.
“Bo Hines will serve as the Executive Director of the President’s Council of Advisors on Digital Assets (the “Crypto Council”), a new advisory group comprised of leading figures in the crypto industry, and chaired by our Crypto Czar, David Sacks. Bo is a graduate of Yale University and Wake Forest University School of Law. In his new role, Bo will work with David to foster innovation and growth in the digital asset space, while ensuring that industry leaders have the resources they need to succeed. Together, they will create an environment where this industry can flourish and remain a cornerstone of our Nation’s technological advancement.”
According to Trump’s announcement, Sriram Krishnan will serve as Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. “Working closely with David Sacks, Sriram will focus on ensuring continued American leadership in AI, and will help shape and coordinate AI policy across the Administration, including working with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Sriram began his career at Microsoft as a founding member of Windows Azure.”
