Median in Fed Dot Plot: A cumulative rate cut of 50 basis points is expected by 2025
On December 19, the Federal Reserve's dot plot showed that among 19 officials, one official believed there should be no interest rate cuts in 2025. Three officials thought there should be a cumulative cut of 25 basis points in 2025. Ten officials believed there should be a cumulative cut of 50 basis points in 2025. Three officials thought there should be a cumulative cut of 75 basis points in 2025. One official believed there should be a cumulative cut of 100 basis points in 2025 and one official thought there should be a cumulative cut of 125 basis points in the year.
