MP Slawomir Menzen promises create a state reserve in Poland Bitcoin - fund in the event of his victory in the presidential elections.
Menzen believes that buying bitcoins with budget funds will strengthen the Polish economy by diversifying reserve financial resources. Slawomir highly values the potential of the digital asset because, unlike fiat currencies, its supply is limited to 21 million coins, so BTC will not be subject to inflation after the last coin is mined and will become an excellent tool for saving capital.
Menzen knows about Bitcoin firsthand. He owns 33,7 BTC, worth $3 million at the current rate. In this regard, the politician’s statements should be taken seriously, but he has little chance of implementing his plan.
According to the results of opinion polls, the greatest popularity among voters enjoy the current head of Poland Andrzej Duda and the country's Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Slawomir leads the libertarian-conservative New Hope party, which is not included in the list of major political forces and controls only 6 of the 460 seats in the Sejm. Given this fact, it becomes obvious that Menzen is unlikely to win the presidential elections scheduled for May 2025.
Apparently, Slawomir decided to follow the example of the newly elected US President Donald Trump, who during the election campaign threatened to create a reserve Bitcoin -fund. However, the founder of the investment company Galaxy Digital, Mike Novogratz сомневР° ется , that Trump will be able to fulfill his promise due to bureaucratic obstacles.
