Bitlayer contributes the first usable script splitting implementation to the BitVM open source project
On November 13th, Bitlayer, a Bitcoin native layer 2 project based on Bitcoin finality, announced that it has contributed the first feasible Groth16 verification script split implementation for the BitVM open source project. After splitting the 1GB Groth16 verification script, 975 chunks were obtained, and all chunks can meet the runtime restrictions of Bitcoin. This implementation fills in the key components of the BitVM implementation, making it possible for the BitVM protocol to run on the Bitcoin mainnet. In addition, Bitlayer revealed its plan to launch the BitVM bridge testnet by the end of 2024.
