MakerDAO votes to change its name to Sky
MakerDAO has voted to maintain its recent rebranding and will continue to be renamed Sky. This decision was previously strongly opposed by the public, who believed that the decentralized autonomous organization behind DAI, the oldest and largest Ethereum-based algorithmic stablecoin, was wasting industry recognition.
In the vote, nearly 80% of the voting shares supported retaining "Sky as the backend protocol brand." However, out of approximately 20 voting entities, only four entities accounted for almost all of the voting shares, with each entity having approximately 20% of the votes, and only one large entity opposing the proposal.
