The woman, identified as Hana on X, shared photos and messages, alleging she was drugged by a DWF Labs executive.

OpenEden, a firm focused on tokenizing real-world assets, recently announced it has terminated the employment of co-founder Eugene Ng following serious allegations involving a woman in Hong Kong.

The accusations, which first surfaced on social media, allege that Ng, also a founding partner at DWF Labs, drugged a woman during a business meeting.

The woman identified only as Hana on X, shared photos and messages describing the encounter, claiming she was drugged by a DWF Labs executive. Her posts quickly gained traction, leading both OpenEden and DWF Labs to take immediate action by suspending Ng pending further investigation.

In a statement released Thursday, OpenEden confirmed Ng’s termination, stating, “The individual in question no longer represents us.” The company emphasized that it takes the allegations seriously and does not condone any personal actions that compromise safety and integrity.

While Ng’s name was not mentioned in OpenEden’s latest statement, he has since deleted his social media profiles. Before co-founding OpenEden, Ng held a notable role as Gemini’s head of business development in Asia and was an investor with a wide industry network.

The incident has sparked broader discussions within the cryptocurrency industry, especially concerning the safety and treatment of women in a largely male-dominated sector.

Industry voices have raised concerns in the past about harassment and abuse, highlighting that more needs to be done to ensure a safe and inclusive environment. This recent case has intensified those discussions, with many calling for stronger codes of conduct and preventive measures within the crypto community.
