‘Space and Time Labs’ Launches’ SXT Chain Testnet at Chainlink SmartCon
The development will help in building data-driven DeFi solutions with enhanced scalability and accuracy.
‘Space and Time Labs’, the Microsoft-backed innovator in zero-knowledge (ZK) data solutions, announced the testnet launch for SXT Chain, which is a flagship blockchain built to deliver ZK-proven data to smart contracts.
The announcement came during Chainlink’s SmartCon event held on October 30.
The testnet launch shows a collaborative approach with industry giants like ZKsync, Chainlink, and Microsoft to redefine decentralized finance (DeFi) through advanced data capabilities.
SXT Chain offers developers a decentralized database that indexes data from leading chains like Ethereum and ZKsync. This database will enable a huge spectrum of data-intensive applications through its Proof of SQL feature.
Furthermore, the ZK coprocessor enables sub-second SQL database query verification. This is the major development that addresses current limitations in blockchain data processing.
With the testnet launch of SXT Chain, smart contracts now can use trusted databases to customize DeFi interactions. Lendvest, a Chainlink BUILD-backed project, is among early adopters using SXT’s data tools for next-gen, data-driven lending protocols.
“We’re thrilled to launch SXT Chain in testnet to empower developers to build more sophisticated applications onchain. Both ZKsync and Chainlink have been pioneers in expanding the capabilities of blockchain technology, and we look forward to continuing to build the next generation of DeFi together with decentralized, ZK-proven database technology.” said Nate Holiday, Co-Founder and CEO of Space and Time.
Space and Time’s partnership with ZKsync will boost SXT’s scalability by using ZK rollup technology. This enables faster and more efficient processing within the Elastic Chain network. This makes it easier for developers to launch smart contracts using Solidity.
“It’s exciting to see that Space and Time is helping to grow the Elastic Chain ecosystem and its capabilities through the SXT Chain as well as the custom ZKsync powered rollup, empowering developers to build more advanced onchain applications secured by ZKsync. We believe ZK is key to scaling Web3, and the launch of SXT Chain advances our shared vision of offering developers sophisticated, data-driven, cross-chain smart contracts,” said Alex Gluchowski, Co-Inventor of ZKsync.
By utilizing Chainlink’s extensive network, SXT Chain can offer developers secure, affordable ZK-verification for data queries, avoiding the costs of Ethereum verification.
Sergey Nazarov, Co-Founder of Chainlink, remarked, “The integration of SXT with the Chainlink Network significantly enhances the toolkit available to developers, providing a novel and secure solution for building scalable, data-driven smart contracts that can interact with onchain and offchain data in a decentralized way”.
Microsoft highlighted its commitment to blockchain advancements. “At Microsoft, we are empowering growth across emerging markets—including blockchain and distributed data. Together, Microsoft Azure and Space and Time will provide developers with the tools they need to build the next generation of blockchain use cases,” said Kathleen Mitford, CVP of Global Industry Marketing at Microsoft.
