Coutts forecasts Bitcoin may hit $170,000 by 2025
Jamie Coutts, the chief cryptocurrency analyst at Real Vision, predicts that Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) could surpass $100,000 in the current market cycle.
Speaking on Raoul Pal’s YouTube channel, The Journey Man, Coutts expressed a 60% probability of Bitcoin reaching $170,000 by August 2025.
He attributed this growth potential to the expansion of the global M2 money supply, which he sees as a significant factor driving Bitcoin’s price movements.
Coutts explained that with a rising money supply, Bitcoin could see an over 155% increase from its current value, establishing a fundamental target of $100,000.
He stated, “With the expansion of the global M2 money supply, it is likely that Bitcoin will see $100,000 by the peak of this market cycle.”
Coutts also noted an optimistic scenario where Bitcoin might reach $234,000, but tempered expectations by dismissing the likelihood of Bitcoin hitting $500,000 within this cycle.
According to Coutts, the chance of Bitcoin hitting $170,000 is 60%, while the probability of reaching $234,000 is 20%.
However, he acknowledged the inherent risks of the volatile crypto market and advised traders to balance potential opportunities with caution.
“I do not expect Bitcoin to reach $500,000 in this cycle,” he said, urging investors to remain realistic in their projections.
The analyst emphasised the strong correlation between Bitcoin’s price and the global M2 money supply, highlighting its critical role in influencing market dynamics.
He projected that Bitcoin’s market capitalisation could grow to approximately $3.75 trillion by August 2025, marking a key milestone for market health and adoption.
At the time of reporting, the Bitcoin price was $67,966.77.
