Fake Cryptocurrency App Alert in App Store – Became One of the Most Downloaded
An app that mimics a major decentralized cryptocurrency platform has become one of the most downloaded on the App Store.
A fake app posing as popular decentralized finance (DeFi) platform Curve Finance has infiltrated the Apple App Store, entering the top 100 finance apps as of Oct. 26.
Titled “Curve DeFi v3,” the fake app poses a significant risk to unsuspecting users, despite being flagged as a scam in numerous reviews.
Developed by an individual identified as “Tao Duong Van,” the app mimics the legitimate Curve Finance logo and functionality to create a deceptive appearance for potential victims. This deceptive tactic has seen the app gain traction in various regions, including Europe, Latin America, New Zealand, the United States, and Southeast Asia.

This continues to raise concerns about the potential for financial loss among users who may confuse the fake app with the real Curve Finance platform.
As of the time of writing, Curve Finance has not issued any official statements or warnings regarding the fraudulent practice.
