The Malaysian National Electricity Company has suffered losses of more than $100 million due to illegal Bitcoin mining and other electricity thefts
the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department of Bukit Aman, Malaysia, Sukhaili bin Haji Luddin, stated that since 2020, the National Power Company of Malaysia (TNB) has suffered losses of over 440 million ringgit (approximately 101 million US dollars) due to electricity theft. As of this year, the losses caused by electricity theft have reached 103 million ringgit. Illegal Bitcoin mining is the mastermind behind most of these cases.
