Norway’s central bank to unveil CBDC proposal next year
According to CryptoNews, Norway's central bank is advancing its research on central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) and plans to make relevant decisions by the end of 2025. Despite the European Central Bank's preparations for digital currencies, Norway is not in a hurry to speed up the process. According to Norway's Deputy Governor, Pal Lovaas, Norway's CBDC research is consistent with other central banks, and the current focus is on evaluating complex issues. Norway is known for its leading position in digital payments, and although cash usage has decreased during the pandemic, it has recently stabilized.
