Financial Times: If Harris wins the election, the Fed may quickly cut interest rates next year
the Financial Times team in the UK has recently updated its forecast for the outlook of the US Federal Reserve's interest rates. It is predicted that if Harris wins the election, the Federal Reserve may quickly cut interest rates next year. Analysis suggests that after the 50 basis point rate cut in September, the Federal Reserve may cut interest rates twice more in 2024 by 25 basis points each time. By the end of this year, the Federal Reserve will have cut interest rates by a total of 100 basis points, bringing the fund rate down to 4.25-4.5%. This is consistent with the Federal Reserve's economic forecast summary in September.
If Harris wins the US presidential election, the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates three more times in the first half of 2025, by 25 basis points each time, bringing the policy rate down to 3.5-3.75%. (Jinshi)
