Generative AI and 3 Scary Things Artificial Intelligence Will Do By 2030

According to OpenAI’s Sam Altman, we’re still a few years away from generative AI, but something left me slightly disturbed while watching the relatively new film Top Gun: Maverick.

It’s when Tom Cruise’s character, Lt. Pete ‘Maverick,’ meets up with Val Kilmer’s brazen hot-headed rival, ‘Iceman.’ It dawned on me that Kilmer has throat cancer in real life. He can’t talk. Yet in the film, he spoke clearly. So — how did they do it? How did they make him speak? It was all done with AI.

The voice in the film is actually a computer-generated simulation of what Val Kilmer’s voice would sound like without cancer.

It’s an incredible yet terrifying feat of technology that made me wonder what other fascinating projects A.I. scientists are pushing the envelope on these days.

Here are the latest predictions from AI experts about generative AI and the next singularity.

1. Generative AI and The Intelligent Internet

“Intelligence is about to be pushed out to the edge. So every person, country, and culture has their own constantly updated models, so you’ll have your own model of all your knowledge across modalities. And you can run it on your local hardware without access to the internet.”

— Emad Mostaque, Founder of Stability AI

According to Stability AI’s Emad Mostaque, modern AI and machine learning will easily produce believable text on any given topic, especially if it is short form. This also includes conducting podcasts that recreate the voices of living or dead celebrities.

The buyout of Twitter made me realize how prevalent this phenomenon already is. Bots produce a third of Twitter’s content. Let that sink in.

If we extrapolate that to the entire Internet, that means a significant portion of the information we consume daily is already generated by artificial intelligence.

What’s real? What’s A.I.? That question is already germane.

2. Accurately Predicting Sports Betting

Get this: The families of two fighting legends sent Stability AI the largest collection of boxing media and motion capture data in the world.

They plan on using that data to create hypothetical boxing matches across various parameters. This means we can get:

Ali Vs. Tyson.
Mayweather Vs. Fraiser.
Jake Paul Vs. Joe Glass.

Eventually, AI will even be able to use real-time data to predict the outcome of live sporting events accurately.

3. Sex Generative AI Anime Waifus

The first A.I. sex robot is here.

Meet, Harmony:

The difference between Harmony and a Judy Love doll — not that I have any experience — is that she has several different personalities to choose from.

Harmony cares that you got that promotion at work. Or, she can be sassy and keep you guessing. But here’s the kicker: her AI is so good that she can converse about anything.

Meanwhile, girlfriend AIs are already being treated as an “existential risk.” In places like Japan, sex robot brothels are even opening up.

1984, Brave New World, Snow Crash — none of them could’ve been ready for this type of sick stuff. We’ll keep you updated on where AI heads next.
