Musk was criticized for "supporting anti-Semitic propositions", and IBM, Disney and Lionsgate Entertainment suspended X platform advertising
On November 17th local time, Walt Disney Company and Lions Gate Entertainment confirmed that they have suspended advertising on social media platform X. IBM stated the day before yesterday that the company has a zero-tolerance policy towards hate speech and discrimination, and has immediately suspended advertising on X. Earlier this week, Musk responded to a user's "anti-Semitic claims" on the X platform by saying "you are stating a fact" and criticized the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), an advocacy group dedicated to combating hate against Jews. The White House spokesperson stated: "We strongly condemn this abhorrent anti-Semitic and racist behavior, which goes against the core values of being American." Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X, stated on the platform on Thursday local time that anti-Semitism and discrimination are unacceptable, but she did not directly respond to Musk's tweet or IBM's decision to suspend advertising.
