Roblox CEO David Baszucki Discusses Potential for NFTs on the Platform
Roblox CEO David Baszucki has discussed the possibility of introducing NFTs to the popular gaming platform, allowing for digital items to move from platform to platform. Baszucki gave the example of a celebrity like Elton John launching limited-edition capes for charity on Roblox, which could then be sold off-platform as an NFT and then return to the platform. While Roblox has already launched a new category of virtual wearable products called Limiteds, which share many characteristics with NFTs, there is no indication that any shift towards interoperable NFTs is currently in the works. Roblox has not yet commented on its NFT plans.
