Ripple CEO slams former SEC Chairman Jay Clayton as 'shockingly hypocritical'
Reported that Cameron Winklevoss, CEO of Gemini, shared a CNBC roundtable discussion featuring former SEC Chairman Jay Clayton on the X platform. During the discussion, Clayton criticized current SEC Chairman Gary Gensler for abusing his power in the agency's enforcement actions against crypto companies. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse fiercely criticized Clayton, calling him "shockingly hypocritical" when discussing company lawsuits and the agency's role. Garlinghouse mentioned that Ripple's nearly three-year legal battle was initiated by Clayton, and one of the main reasons he was particularly angry was that Clayton left the SEC shortly after initiating the lawsuit.
