Ripple chief legal officer and XRP community back Hester Peirce in challenging LBRY lawsuit
Ripple Labs Chief Legal Officer (CLO) Stuart Alderoty and the XRP community have expressed support on the X platform for US SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce's stance against the "unfairness" in the LBRY lawsuit. Alderoty thanked Peirce and suggested that when there is persistent unfairness in non-fraud cases, especially when consumers are still waiting for a solution to actual fraud cases, it may be necessary to disregard standard protocols, express concerns more directly, and even submit an amicus brief to the court to address the issue. (Cointelegraph) Earlier today, Hester Peirce issued a statement on Friday stating that the SEC has taken many troubling cryptocurrency enforcement actions, but the LBRY case is particularly unsettling and disappointing. Hester Peirce does not support the SEC's lawsuit against LBRY, but was unable to publicly express this view during the LBRY case litigation.
